Next Saturday, the 21st, Resurrection Young Adults will be heading to KCK to work at Hillcrest Transitional Housing. We’ll be working on a new facility that the organization will be opening up soon. We’ll also have lunch and get to know some of the homeless families that work with the organization. Hillcrest’s mission is this: ”to be a transitional housing program providing a Christian environment that helps homeless families become self-supportive, self reliant contributors to society.”
Proverbs 14:31 says this, “…whoever is kind to the needy honors God.” I think this will be a great opportunity to show our Christian Faith and kindness in a practical way.
I was blessed to work with Hillcrest a couple of months ago and had an awesome experience. If you’re a young adult, I would encourage you to come out next weekend and serve others. It’s also a great opportunity to meet other young adults. If you’re planning on coming out, just send me an email (nathan.webb@cor.org or Facebook message and let me know. We’ll be working with FaithWork on this project and meeting at 9am in the Narthex of Resurrection. I’m looking forward to serving with you!
